Every year, hundreds of Humpback whales end their long migration as they come into the Bay of Banderas to spend the winter months. It is here, in these breeding grounds, that males compete and show off for potentials mates and many new calves are introduced into this world. Let naturalist guide and wildlife photographer, Tyania, introduce you to the secrets of the Humpback whale.
Catch sight of 50 tons of animal leaping into the air, listen to humpback males as they sing their eerie, yet beautiful songs, or be blessed enough to have one of these curious giants emerge from the water to peek at you. While the humpbacks are definitely the stars of the show, keep your eyes our for other residents and winter visitors to the bay including hunting orcas, large aggregations of dolphins, sun bathing sea turtles, giant Pacific manta rays and more. Everyday holds a new surprise. Three hour excursions include fruit, cookies and non-alcoholic beverages. We recommend that you bring sunscreen, a hat or sunglasses and a light jacket or sweater.
